Where To See The 4th of July Fireworks On The Outer Banks

It’s the scorching heat. It’s the beaches filled with sun-soakers. It’s the air. It’s summer time. And to celebrate it in style, we have Independence Day- the Fourth of July to celebrate big, bold, and loud. We cover the best of the summer action with numerous opportunities to see fireworks on the Outer Banks.

Nags Head

Many top-rated Nags Head vacation rentals get you right in on the action for an epic July 4th. Come to Nags Head beachside for a big fireworks celebration at around 9:30 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets for their convenience. We also recommend getting in as early as possible. The event attracts huge crowds, and parking can be a bit difficult. Many visitors late in the day will be directed to park west of the Beach Bypass as traffic across the highway is highly discouraged.

The event is at the Nags Head ocean pier by milepost 11.5 on S. Virginia Dare Trail. It is free to attend and is expected to last about 30 minutes. Be sure to explore our Outer Banks oceanfront rentals in the area to avoid driving to the event. It’ll make your life much easier!

We also recommend a number of top-quality local Nags Head restaurants to check out, including Stack Em High and Beachside Bistro.

Manteo Waterfront

The family-oriented event at the Manteo Waterfront is a summer-soaked blast and hosts one of the best Fourth of July fireworks on the Outer Banks. The event encompasses music, games, and all-American staples, like an apple pie eating contest!

There are multiple stages open for bands to play. This includes a rotating act of bands at the Courthouse Stage and a headliner at the Boathouse Stage. Fireworks are expected to launch just after 9 p.m.

There is no cost to attend the event, but food, temporary face tattoos, kids art, and more may cost extra. The event is a staple of the town of Manteo and is expected to occur every year on the fourth.

Kill Devil Hills

Kill Devil Hills is directly in the heart of the Outer Banks. Review our list of Kill Devil Hills vacation rentals to get first-rate access to this nostalgic and rosy waterside town- despite its searing name!

We adore Kill Devil Hills and its fireworks spectacular is, well, spectacular! You can discover various games, special events at restaurants and vendors at Avalon Pier. Visit Awful Arthur’s Oyster Bar for dinner or snack on some shrimp at the definitive seaside shack, Stoney Spencer’s. The fireworks are usually slated to launch at 8 p.m. The event is free for all ages.
