Great oldtime OBX style w upgrades

We loved this property, because it had the old style OBX cottage appearance with these great porches, along with upgraded lighting and necessities, including all the TV channels my husband could watch. PLUS, this place was absolutely wind and rain tight as we experienced the tropical storm spun off Hurricane Ian! I’ve never been anywhere else so solid! Remember to use your phone flashlight to see the keypad accessing the front door key. We arrived in the dark, and it was a little tricky. Plus, be aware that this is south, not north, if arriving in the dark.
Perfect Place!

Loved this little place! It was perfect for two people and a dog. The location cannot be beat, within walking distance of a few restaurants and directly across the street from the beach access. The house had everything we needed and more. We plan to come back again. Thanks for the great stay!
Cute house

Very cute house. We would stay there again. Loved the location and right at a beach access. Just enough for the 2 of us. When we arrived, it was VERY CLEAN! We were impressed with that. Photos need to be updated as owners have made some improvements. Staff at the realty company were very helpful and friendly. Negatives are: A/C in bedroom did not cool well and the bathroom is very small for a plus size person, but nicely done. The only reason for not giving Stay Salty a 5 rating is that there was a birds nest with baby birds around or very near the a/c in the bedroom that woke us up at 6 a.m. sharp every day and chirped until dark. While we realize it is mother nature and didn’t want the birds to be harmed, it would have been nice if the realty company could have found someone to relocate them as we wanted to sleep later. They could not be heard loudly in other parts of the house. We DEFINATELY would stay again.

Thank you for your review, we look forward to having you back at Stay Salty next year! FYI, the birds are no longer hatchlings and have moved out of the nest and the window unit in the bedroom has been updated! We wish we could have found someone to mitigate the issue during your stay without harming the birds and we appreciate your understanding about this odd issue. Thanks for your review and we are glad you enjoyed your visit!
Nice stay

The pluses of this property are the hot tub, location, and dish washer. The deck offers a beautiful view and is a great place to sit in the evening because it is shaded but bring your own chairs. The cons are that the air conditioning is barely adequate, the bed is less than comfortable and the kitchen lacks necessary silverware and dishes. There are no bowls bigger than a cereal bowl.
Manager Response
Thank you to this guest for their review. We want to let future guests at Stay Salty know that there is no longer a hot tub, but there are chairs for the deck and nice new furnishings in the screen porch. The kitchen has been restocked and brand new window units in the home. The new homeowner has put a lot of TLC into this little cottage!
