You will feel right at home when you stay at 'Homeport' in Southern Shores. Just a short stroll to the beach, this one level 4 bedroom cottage is tucked away in the live oak trees on a quiet neighborhood street. With 2 bedrooms and a bath on each side of the home with the living/kitchen space in the middle, the layout is perfect for a little privacy between your group. If you are a long time Outer Banks visitor, the decor evokes pleasant memories of past vacations but the home has been lovingly updated with your comfort and convenience in mind. Enjoy the quiet, wooded location from the spacious sun decks on the front and back of the house. There is a beach cart available for your use so you can simply walk the 3-5 minutes to the beach and don't have to worry about parking!

House was perfect. 7 adults and 2 dogs and everyone was comfortable. Kitchen had everything you would need. Beds were comfortable and the decor was perfect beach. The walk to the beach was short. Large sofa was great and enjoyed the outdoor option for cooking gas/charcoal. We will be back.

This home is an absolute breath of fresh air. I have been vacationing in this home almost every summer since I was a baby. I have had the insurmountable pleasure of staying in this home, and it is such a privilege. Very nice walking and biking trails nearby, a quick walk to the beach and not very far from duck! I also love the wizard of oz themed mailbox and home down the road and the walking distance playground for young kids. Thank you homeport, for always being my homeport!

Pros: Cute house in a quiet neighborhood. Modern appliances. Dog friendly. Great front/rear deck and outdoor shower. Nice interior decor. Several beach options with parking pass provided. Cons: Very steep driveway. Had difficulty going in and out of driveway. Road is very narrow. Both queen bed mattress sag in the middle, could not get comfortable entire week. Overall nice house but needs new mattresses and better picture of actual driveway from road.

Thank you for your review! One of the queen mattresses is brand new this year but we will share your feedback regarding bed comfort with the homeowner. There are a couple of pictures that show the full length of the driveway in the virtual tour feature but the next time there is a reshoot we will get a shot from the street as you have suggested.
