PRIVATE POOL! Outside Hot-tub! Dune Deal is just a short walk away from the sound and has beautiful sound views! There is a small sound beach approximately 100 yards away available for your use. It’s a great location for water sport activities; kayaking, kite boarding, or windsurfing. The sunsets are breathtaking. Quiet neighborhood streets are safe for activities like skateboarding, roller-blading and biking. Jockey’s Ridge State Park is a short walk (.5 miles) from the house. The Sound shore near Dune Deal is a great place for kids to play (and for parents to relax). The shallow sound waters don't have the currents and waves of the ocean and we never have "red flag" days! The sound is also excellent for sail boats, kayaks, kite boards, paddleboards, or just about any type of watercraft. Plus your pets can enjoy the calm, shallow waters.

Good location but wish house was better 01/02/2023

We were very happy with the location. Being able to walk to the sound side of Jockeys Ridge was great and the sound was visible from the house. We could even see fireworks for New Years from the house.
The dishwasher seemed newer and worked great. The washer and dryer were fantastic to have as well and they appeared to be pretty new.
The beds were comfortable but there was a spider on one of the pillows of what was going to be a kids room and it took some convincing that there shouldn’t be any future spiders on their pillow.
The condition of the deck area were very old, could use replacing or sanding, and very slippery with a little bit of rain. It seemed very run down which wasn’t anticipated from the pictures.
The inside of the house didn’t seem like it was cleaned very well before our arrival. At least in the living room, there was dirt on the rug. (It’s possible the house just wasn’t given a once over since we were an off season rental.)
The tub drain in the master bath was very slow to drain and might need to be looked at to see if it can be unclogged.
All in all, we were there 7-8 days and the house fit our needs and had a functioning kitchen. We prepped most of our food at the house.
It’s a short drive to all kinds of places of interest like the Wright Brothers Memorial, a number of the fishing piers, Manteo, the lighthouses and more. The neighborhood was fantastic as well. Everyone there was so nice and cordial when we were out on walks.
The rental process was very easy and the rental company was great!

Hi Valerie, thank you for your review! We will make a note that the decks need a power washing this off-season, they have plans to redo the siding, windows, etc. soon. We will also have someone take a look at the drain in the primary bathroom, thank you for letting us know about that. The cottages do not always have the same "freshly cleaned" feeling in the off-season when they are not being turned over in the same day, but dirt on the living room rug is not acceptable and we will share that feedback with the housekeeper and inspector. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay overall and did so many wonderful activities! We hope that you will rent from CVR again in the future!
