Let me begin by saying that the home has had a bunch of recent updates. Fresh paint, some furniture upgrades, deck replacement, etc. Nice, quiet neighborhood with easy access to the sound and Jockey Ridge. Grocery store and multiple restaurants nearby. Bring your bikes, fishing rods, and paddleboards! Ocean beach access is a short drive away, but we spent most of our time enjoying the sound beach instead. Lots of deck space with a view of the sound (or of the summer thunderstorms that blow through) . Plenty of room to spread out. Pool and hot tub were both excellent perks when the weather was a little unpredictable. If bringing your family dog, I would recommend that they be crate trained and that you bring their crate along. We did this for ours, and we had no issues at all (however, apparently others had left their furry friends home alone and it was a frightening experience for them). Overall, very happy with this home and will definitely return.

We were very happy with the location. Being able to walk to the sound side of Jockeys Ridge was great and the sound was visible from the house. We could even see fireworks for New Years from the house. The dishwasher seemed newer and worked great. The washer and dryer were fantastic to have as well and they appeared to be pretty new. The beds were comfortable but there was a spider on one of the pillows of what was going to be a kids room and it took some convincing that there shouldn’t be any future spiders on their pillow. The condition of the deck area were very old, could use replacing or sanding, and very slippery with a little bit of rain. It seemed very run down which wasn’t anticipated from the pictures. The inside of the house didn’t seem like it was cleaned very well before our arrival. At least in the living room, there was dirt on the rug. (It’s possible the house just wasn’t given a once over since we were an off season rental.) The tub drain in the master bath was very slow to drain and might need to be looked at to see if it can be unclogged. All in all, we were there 7-8 days and the house fit our needs and had a functioning kitchen. We prepped most of our food at the house. It’s a short drive to all kinds of places of interest like the Wright Brothers Memorial, a number of the fishing piers, Manteo, the lighthouses and more. The neighborhood was fantastic as well. Everyone there was so nice and cordial when we were out on walks. The rental process was very easy and the rental company was great!
