Spring Events – Taste of the Beach

Every spring season unveils a wide breadth of brilliant new Outer Banks events for locals and vacationers alike. There’s enough here to unpack for every day of the fresh warm weather of North Carolina.

But, many of the finest events in the Outer Banks revolve around food. Affordable food, fine food, Florida food, classic dishes, dishes mixed with cocktails, and anything else contributes to an exotic vacation getaway.

The Taste of the Beach is four days of exhilarating food in many beach-themed forms. Below is a look at this rowdy and rambunctious seasonal event series in North Carolina.

What is Taste of the Beach?

Taste of the Beach is not one single event. It is many events at multiple local Outer Banks restaurants, cafes, diners, and bars. Many restaurants collaborate to set off a grand journey of food and fun.

The event runs each year on the 4th weekend in March. (In 2018, it was March 22nd to 25th.) It encompasses wine tours, classic seafood dining, historical eating (including Outer Banks heritage dining), beer events, pizza schools, martini selections, the best lobster Maine event, and a cocktail and desserts get-together.

The event is overseen by the Outer Banks Restaurant Association. The non-profit group discusses local business matters and serving the community with events.

Also, many menu items will offer shellfish of various kinds. Please be very aware of what the menu includes. Every location has their own selections and methods of food preparation, including using separate grills for seafood, no-meat dinners for vegetarian and vegan purposes, and more.
