The only way to beat these water views is to board a ship and take to the sea! You'll savor the sunsets and sweeping vistas (limited only by the horizon) over the open reaches of the Roanoke & Albemarle Sounds. Windsurfers and Kayakers pay attention! You can stay rigged with the boards or launch those kayaks in a minute from the enclosed and secure "sail-loft" storage room under the cottage. The firm sandy bottom and steps to the water make the Sound waters easily accessible and perfect for children (shallow & calm) and all sorts of water sports activities

The Sound shore near the Sun-Sets is a great place for kids to play (and parents relax). The shallow sound waters don't have the currents and waves of the ocean and we never have "red flag" days! The neighborhood is also quiet and peaceful without the hubbub and traffic of locations nearer the Ocean.The location of Sun-Sets is one of the best wind-surfing and kite surfing launch sites on the entire east coast. It's also a great spot for small sailboats. 'Vacationers will also enjoy the easy access to the nearby natural open space and beautiful ( and very rare ) Sound-Front beaches in Jockey's Ridge State Park just a short walk away.

DIRECTIONS

Sun-Sets is SoundFront at 4103 W Soundside Road in Nags Head near the 13 mile Post. The cottage is also just a short walk from the Estuarine Access to Jockeys Ridge State Park. Coming from the North; Soundside Road is the first street South of the Jockeys Ridge Cross-Walk light at about the 12.9 mile post The cross-walk light is located where the sand-dune comes closest to US 158, Croatan Highway. Turn west on Soundside Road and drive towards the Sound about .5 mile. The street makes a sweeping 90 full turn to the left (south) just past the sound access. Sun-Sets is the 7th house on the left beyond the curve . From the South; Soundside Road is the first street past the traffic light at Deering Street ( the Nags Head Post Office is on this intersection on the North-West corner at about the 13.4 mile post. The Nags Head Baptist Church is on the corner of West Soundside. Looking North you can see the Jockeys Ridge cross-walk light. Turn left (west) onto West Soundside and proceed as above.
