| The location of this cottage in the heart of Nags Head is so convenient yet the non-commercial neighborhood is quiet and relaxing. You'll enjoy the multi-use sidewalk/bikepath fronting Virginia Dare Trail that leads throughout the town. Favorite local eatery Tortugas is just up the street and the Outer Banks YMCA described in detail on this website ( $affordable weekly family memberships and fantastic pool facility) is just a couple of blocks away. The history buff will enjoy the local history of the wreck of the Huron which led to the founding of the US Coast Guard and divers and snorkelers might venture offshore to the wreck itself right out front! | ![]() |
DIRECTIONS Sand Joy II is on the Northeast corner of the intersection of Virginia Dare Trail, Route 12, the Beach Road; and Bladen Street. Coming from the North (@11.2 miles from the Wright Memorial Bridge) or South ( @ 5.3 miles from the US 64 Causeway) on US 158 (Croatan Highway) and turn east at the traffic light at Bonnett Street. To spot Bonnett Street look for the new Nags Head Elementary School on the east side of the highway or the Outer Banks Family YMCA on the west side. Follow Bonnet to a "T" with the beach road. Turn right (south) on the beach road (Rte.12) and Sand Joy II will be on the left (east) side of the Beach Road just north of Bladen Street about a block south of Tortugas Lie restaurant. | |
