Remodeled extensively and New Hot Tub for 2010! The Hang Glider is located on the Ocean Front lot just behind the Kite Flyer and across from Jockey’s Ridge State Park near Kitty Hawk Kites. Due to the location of the Hang Glider across from Jockey’s Ridge State Park and the absence of nearby public beach access, the beach in front of the Hang Glider is one of the least crowded of the entire resort area (and less crowded than much of the National Seashore )The central location means the necessities (and the fun stuff too) are conveniently near-by. The comfort of central air-conditioning, the convenience of well-equipped kitchen and laundry area and the quiet location between the beach and the Park make this a relaxing location for a family vacation. For those more action oriented, Kitty Hawk Kites and Sports right across the street can arrange Hang-Gliding lessons on the Dunes or Wind-surfing or Kayaking trips to the Alligator River, roller-blading, “rock” wall climbing, para-sailing, aero-tours; the list goes on....So Relax...or Play., the choice is yours and the Hang Glider is the perfect location.

The Hang Glider is a well-equipped, comfortably furnished and great value for a vacation getaway. DIRECTIONS

The Hang Glider is located on the Oceanside at about the 12.8 mile post in Nags Head at 3911 S. Virginia Dare Trail ( the Beach Road). Coming from the north, there will be signs for the entrance to Jockey’s Ridge State Park beginning @ the 12 mile post. The Beach Road and The By-Pass run side-by-side @ the 12.7 M.P. and shortly thereafter the sand-dune comes right up to the highway and there a pedestrian crosswalk, light controlled; between Kitty Hawk Kites/Sports and the sand-dune. The first cross-street south of this light is Soundside Road. Turn east towards the Ocean. At the “T” with S. Va. Dare Trail ( the Beach Road) turn left (north) 3911 will be about 400 yards north on the Ocean-front (right). The driveway is shared. Hang Glider is by the street on the left (north) side. The Beach Road (Route 12) can also be accessed from Route 158 from the north @ the 12.5 mile post via Conch Street which is just north of the “Brew Thru”. At the intersection w/ Route 12 (Va. Dare Trail) turn right (south). The driveway for the Hang Flyer is @ 400 yards south on the left just beyond the point where the two roads diverge again.
